Punta Cana Dominican Republic

Our family has stayed with Club Med six times, and over the years we earned Gold Great Members status.

Then Club Med changed the loyalty program, recalculated the system, and our status was downgraded to Silver.

That is what this is about.

Our kids grew up loving Club Med, we built real relationships with staff members we still keep in touch with, and we always spent extra on activities and experiences because we genuinely enjoyed being there.

The frustrating part is not simply losing a status.

It is realizing that you can spend years being loyal to a company, earn recognition through that loyalty, and then the rules can change and that recognition can disappear.

As a business owner, I believe loyalty and trust should mean something.

The staff at the resorts work hard to create that trust and make people want to return. It is sad to see those relationships undermined by decisions made at the management level.

We already have another Club Med vacation booked, and we will still go and enjoy it with our family.

But on principle, it will be our last.

We truly thought Club Med would be a brand our family would continue discovering around the world for many years. That is what makes this so disappointing.

Samuel leading the kids' club like the Pied Piper, Paul and Juarez joining me for dinner at El Mundo after my family had departed, Ozkan's and Patricio’s perfect drinks at Joia Bar, Mileidys' dance moves and endless spirit, welcome back hugs from Angela and Leidy at Indigo, Entertainment Director, Miguel, always with the warmest smile and exchange wherever he goes...last but certainly not least, Lucas with Go Yoga. What a gift to practice with and learn from such a schooled yogi and teacher. Mr. White’s love for yoga shines through each class and his passion is infectious. Thank you for challenging me and inspiring me to go deeper in my practice.

Now I understand why families return year after year. We leave home, to come home. This is family. This is a gift. 🙏

We recently stayed at Club Med Punta Cana for a week on family vacation and were extremely happy with it. The resort's location is beautiful, the beaches and pools are extremely nice, and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a Tiara Collection room and were very impressed by how clean and comfortable it was, and all the amenities were fantastic. They had a lot of fun activities and excursions that were great too. Our kid liked the kids club, but as a heads up for American parents -- this is a French travel company (which we didn't realize) so most of the guests and theirs kids speak French so my son had a difficult time communicating at the kids club with the other kids because of the French-English language barrier.

We have come to CM Punta Cana twice because they have a fantastic kids club where you can drop off your kids and everyone gets their own vacation. This is the big draw. It's not the most luxurious place, the food is about average for an all inclusive but nothing special....you come here for the kids club.

That being said, English speakers may struggle no matter what the resort tells you. French is the dominant language, with Spanish second. Many staff members do not speak English and I'm not talking about housekeeping and other behind the scenes staff, I mean wait staff, bartenders, and other client facing staff.

For the adults, we were able to get by as I can speak a little Spanish. However, if you are bringing English speaking kids and plan on using the Kids Club, you have to know going in that there's a 50/50 chance no other kids will speak English. The first time I came my kid found two English speakers and had an amazing time. On my most recent trip there was one other kid who spoke just a little English, and it was tougher. For many kids, if other kids can't speak their language it can make for an unpleasant experience where it's tough to make friends or be part of a group.

To be clear, it's not a criticism...this is just what the club is and English speakers should know this going in. I have heard Club Med Cancun draws more English speakers, so keep that in mind if it matters.

Otherwise, staff is friendly and helpful, and the kids club is great and allows for the parents to have a vacation themselves. I've done a lot of research and have yet to find another company that seems to do kids clubs better.

We had a wonderful vacation at Club Med Punta Cana. The resort is truly beautiful, immersed in the lush and vibrant nature of the Dominican Republic, creating a peaceful and unique atmosphere.
What made our stay truly special, however, were Bryan and Paul. They were absolutely key to making our vacation such a memorable experience.

Bryan, the leader of HK Tiara, the exclusive area of the resort, took exceptional care of us. His professionalism, warmth, and constant attention to our needs made us feel genuinely welcomed and looked after throughout our stay.

Paul, responsible for Communications and Marketing, was equally outstanding. His kindness, availability, and personal attention made a real difference to our experience. Bryan and Paul went above and beyond to make us feel special, and we are especially grateful to both of them.

We also greatly appreciated the warm hospitality of the local team working throughout the resort for the house keeping and in the restaurants and bars. Everyone was friendly and genuinely welcoming.

The food and restaurant organization were excellent with great variety and very well managed service.

Overall, we had a fantastic experience at Club Med Punta Cana. A special thank you to Bryan and Paul you truly made our vacation unforgettable!
