"We (a couple who are a little over middle aged), have recently arrived home after spending 14 days at Club Med Sohoro Hokkaido Japan on a snowboarding holiday, and we can’t wait to go back again.
It felt like a free holiday given we had paid months before and absolutely everything was included.
The rooms are surprisingly spacious, very well equipped and cleaned beautifully every day.
The food was absolutely amazing with a huge assortment of food from many nationalities to suit all tastes.
But we were there to enjoy the Japanese cuisine and it did not disappoint. The chefs proudly presented each plate, and the food was traditional, high quality, beautifully presented and very tasty. Exquisite!
The bar snacks were next level and they even did a weekly BBQ out in the snow.
Snowboard lessons were included and the instructors were absolutely amazing.
The staff throughout all areas of the resort were extremely friendly helpful, happy and showed a genuine interest in our day and in ensuring we had access to everything we wanted.
The après facilities are excellent, with the bar overlooking the snow, an outdoor Canadian bath, a heated pool and jacuzzi, onsen, day spa, pool tables, tennis tables, gymnasium and nightly entertainment.
Being a smaller resort and with only two resorts on the mountain, the runs weren’t crowded and we didn’t have to queue for lifts which was fantastic.
We can’t wait to return, and definitely recommend Club Med Sohoro Hokkaido."

Club Med Sahoro Hokkaido move a mountain for me.
5/5 • 1/04/2025The Giant Slalom or GS Race is the signature of Club Med Sahoro Hokkaido.
Club Med Sahoro is the only Club Med in the world that offers GS races that are officially timed, and complete with a medal ceremony presentation in the same evening.
For some reason, no GS Race was conducted during the 2024/25 season.
But when Aina, the ski director of Club Med Sahoro and Stefan, the assistant ski director learned that I am very passionate about the GS race, they organised a GS race within 36 hours!
The logistic involved, especially when setting the first GS Race of the season, is laborious and humongous. The racing gates have to be moved from the storage facility to the designated racing slope. The Club Med ski team needs to meticulously set up the racing gates within the skiers' ability.
The impromptu race went remarkably well in the morning. There were about 25 racers out of 40+ eligible participants. Only those in the Class of level 4 to level 6 are permitted to race.
The medal ceremony in the evening was well presented even at such short notice and preparation. About 2/3 of the racers, both skiers and snowboarders, managed to finish within the medal category.
This visit was my 10th trip to Club Med Sahoro. I first put on my skis there in 2001. I have since risen from a level 1 skier to level 5 over the 20+ years. I have participated in 5 races over my last 5 visits to Club Med Sahoro. In my first GS race back in 2015, I was overjoyed after I won my first bronze medal. I went on to win another bronze medal in the following season, followed by 3 more silver medals to date as my skiing ability improved.
It was an honour indeed for me to participate in the one and only Trident GS race of the season which was organised upon my request.

Greatest snow of my life
5/5 • 31/03/2025First of all, what a wonderful club med, food is great, the rooms and hotel is really clean for a Ski in Ski out. After discussing with a few of the GO’s, you quickly understand how lucky everyone is to have Logan has CDV. The man gave me and my 4 friends such a warm welcome, always happy to help whatever your situation is and quick to find solutions. However, Logan itself will keep saying how lucky he is to have such a wonderful GO team. He was not wrong. The ski/snowboard instructor team was wonderful. If you’re doubting what level you should sign up in, asking Alex V. at the ski instructor counter is always ready to help!
We were lucky to be part of group 6 with wonderful instructors. Big shout out to Aly, Edu, Luca, Miguel, Figo, Stefano but most importantly Manu!!
If you ever get any of these instructors, YOU ARE BLESSED!
I could go on and on, on any of these people, they are truly amazing, passionate, smart and amazing teachers. Always willing to give you advice or simply show you their personal “hidden spots”. I have so much positive things to say on all of these peoples, it would be easier for you to simply experience a day with them!
These wonderful people most definitely made this a wonderful experience!

4/5 • 26/03/2025This was our 9th annual visit to Sahoro. Overall stay experience is greatly influenced by Chef du Village and his team's energy. This year, was headed by Logan (whom we've met before his promotion) - excellent inaugural season. We stayed in both B & C blocks. Very good design flow and room comfort. We had good quality sleep. Spa company was excellent this year - both services and products! Ski instructors were of high standard. Teen club with Dodo is always guaranteed good fun. Mini-club was so-so, could be better if more stimulating and tailored activities for 7-10yr olds are developed. Sign-ups in the mornings though is always a mess! Need to come up with a better solution to make signing in more efficient, disciplined and less frustrating. Ofuro desperately needs renovation - tiles are broken, missing, windows are old and stained, feeling of depression rather than relaxation. Laundry machines are coin operated - guests can only exchange Japanese currency notes to get the coins - no other currency (SGD, USD, AUD etc) or form of payment can be used to get coins for the laundry machines meaning you can not pay by credit card etc... Food variety and quality is not as good this year. Ingredients and freshness were not as per usual standards we've had in previous years. The shows in the evenings were good considering the talent and skills available - the new show, Elements is good but not as fun as other shows. Reason we keep coming back is the ease of logistics (ski rentals, ski passes and classes, meals, shows, gym, spa) especially for a family with varying ages of children; also familiarity of resort facilities/amenities and mountain terrain and the 'boutique feel and size' of the resort is more intimate, comfortable and easy to navigate. We also come here with a few (4-6) family friends every year.
